Pea soup with rutabaga and bacon
Pea soup with rutabaga, a vegetable once widely popular but now used in Poland practically only in the regional cuisines of Kaszuby and Podhale. The robust taste of rutabaga falls somewhere between turnip, radish, and potatoes and makes a phenomenal addition to traditional pea soup. Serve hot with bread or your favorite accompaniment.
